I spent a season working with the idea of water as mirror and memory. Big Pond takes that literally: the wide surface of the lake in Nova Scotia catches sky, trees, and light in one slow reflection. I let the paint breathe across that surface—scatter a few ripples, touch a few shoreline shapes—and the scene became less about what was there and more about what stays with you afterwards.
